VERIGRAFT and BBG Advanced Therapies collaborate on P-TEV U.S. readiness

The collaboration marks an important step in VERIGRAFT’s preparations for future clinical development activities in the United States and supports the company’s broader strategy to advance P-TEV, its personalized tissue-engineered vein.

U.S. development and manufacturing readiness

Under the collaboration, BBG Advanced Therapies will support key U.S. development and manufacturing readiness activities, including donor vein sourcing, manufacturing-related operations, and operational preparation for future U.S. clinical activities.

Advancing P-TEV for chronic venous insufficiency

P-TEV is VERIGRAFT’s lead advanced therapy medicinal product and is designed to replace a diseased vein segment with a personalized, fully biological graft containing a functioning venous valve. It is being developed for patients with chronic venous insufficiency, a progressive vascular disease in which failing venous valves can lead to reflux, swelling, pain, skin changes and venous leg ulcers. While current treatments primarily aim to manage symptoms, P-TEV is being developed to address the underlying venous valve dysfunction that drives disease progression.

Preparing for future U.S. clinical development

“Establishing the right operational and manufacturing partnerships is an important part of preparing for future clinical development in the United States,” said Petter Björquist, CEO at VERIGRAFT. “BBG Advanced Therapies brings relevant expertise and infrastructure to support this next stage of our U.S. readiness work.”

The collaboration builds on VERIGRAFT’s clinical experience in Europe and strengthens the company’s operational foundation for future development in the United States.

Supporting the next stage of development

We are honored to support VERIGRAFT as the company advances its preparations for future U.S. clinical development,” said Adrienne B. Mendoza, SVP, BioBridge Global and Chief Operating Officer at BBG Advanced Therapies. “VERIGRAFT’s approach represents an important innovation in regenerative medicine, and we look forward to contributing our capabilities to this work.”

Together, the companies aim to support the continued development of P-TEV as a potential future treatment option for patients with chronic venous insufficiency who currently have no or limited treatment options that address the underlying cause of disease.
